Walking Montalbano July

Walking Montalbano guided walks, organized by the Municipality of Lamporecchio and the tourist office San Baronto-Lamporecchio, continue every Wednesday in July. They are a unique chance for tourists and local people to discover the treasures in Lamporecchio and the Montalbano hill walking along the historic paths in our territory.

On Wednesday July 4th at 9.30 am, after a pleasant walk in the park, our guide will show you one of our territory’s jewels, the magnificent Villa Rospigliosi surrounded by a luxuriant Italian Renaissance garden.

On Wednesday July 11th at 6.00 pm special appointment with a walk at sunset. Starting from the village of Porciano we will follow a path to Poggio alla Baghera and Ronco; our guide will lead you to discover some of the most amazing views of our hill when the sun begins to set uncovering nature’s most beautiful colours. The participants who want to eat in the fields can bring with them sandwiches, drinks and the necessary things for a picnic.

On Wednesday July 18th at 9.30 am following a path from Lamporecchio we will visit Forrà Pruno farm, a local producer of olive oil, vegetables, fruit and site of a laboratory for the production of jams, fruit jiuce and sauces. The walk is about 3 km long.

On Wednesday July 25th at 9 am, starting from the Football field in San Baronto, we will go to discover the medieval village of Cecina, one of the ancient fortresses in Valdinievole. A village enclosed by strong walls which seem to preserve a timeless atmosphere. The walk is about 10 km long and with free shuttle return.
