Our summer guided walks go on in July

Summer has started and with the beginning of July our guided visits move, as usual, to Thursday.

Here is the July programme:

Thursday July 4th the walk starts from the Church of San Baront, follows the Pasqualino path and then we will reach Gironi quarries where the stonemasons took the stone to make their works. The visit goes on to Forrottoli to head back to San Baronto.

Thursday July 11th the walk starts from Lamporecchio, following a path surrounded by olive groves and vineyards and stops at Forrà Pruno farm, a local producer of olive oil, vegetables, fruit and site of a laboratory for the production of jams, fruit juice and sauces. After the visit the walk goes back to the starting point.

Thursday July 18th special appointment with a walk at sunset. Starting from the village of Porciano we will follow a path to Poggio alla Baghera and Ronco; our guide will lead you to discover some of the most amazing views of our hill when the sun begins to set uncovering nature’s most beautiful colours. The participants who want to eat in the
fields can bring with them sandwiches, drinks and the necessary things for a picnic. At the end all the participants will be offered the typical sweet of Lamporecchio, the famous brigidini.

Thursday July 25th the walk will follow the Romea Strata, the ancient pilgrims’ way. After the visit of the Church of San Baronto the walk followS the path used in the past by the pilgrims coming from the north to reach Rome. Before getting to San Baronto the path passed through Pistoia, where Saint James relics are kept, and where every year on July 25th the celebrations of the patron saint take place.
