Wine

Among the wines produced in these lands, the most important one is the Chianti Montalbano DOCG, whose story dates back to the thirteenth century when it arrived as a gift on the tables of Pistoia’s Bishops. The Chianti Montalbano wine grapes are Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Tuscan Trebbiano and Chianti Malvasia. Its colour is ruby red tending to garnet-red due to ageing. Among the other important certificated varieties there are the Bianco della Valdinievole Doc, the Vinsanto della Valdinievole and several IGTs.
