Excursions on the historical paths of Lamporecchio and Montalbano continue in August

Our guided walks continue in August. They are organized by the Municipality of Lamporecchio and the tourist office San Baronto-Lamporecchio and they are an unmissable chance for tourists and local people to discover the hidden treasures in Lamporecchio and the Montalbano hill walking along the paths in our territory.

Our weekly excursions, with groups of maximum 30 people are free with booking required and are in Italian and English with our qualified guide Michela Del Negro

Thursday August 3rd at 9 a.m. after the visit of the church of Santa Maria del Pruno in Orbignano with its thirteenth and fourteenth century fragments of frescoes, the itinerary follows medieval paths surrounded by vineyards and then stops at “Il Poderino dei Trinci” farm which produces olive oil, wine and wheat where a small tasting will be offered.

Monday August 7th at 9 a.m. the itinerary follows an old path from Ospedale Minghetti in Spicchio which leads to Giugnano and then stops at “La Dispensa” farm where you will see the cheese-making transformation process with final tasting.

Thursday August 10th at 5.30 p.m. the walk starts in Porciano and, following a path in Lampaggio area, heads to “Belvedere” farm where a refreshing strawberries snack will be offered. People who want to stay longer for a tasting of typical products, can book directly at the farm (tel. +393397145838).

Monday August 14th at 9 a.m. after a visit of the Church and its evocative Romanic crypt in San Baronto, our guide will lead you to discover some of the most amazing views of our hill.

Thursday August 17th at 5.30 p.m. starting from the Church of Santa Maria del Pruno in Orbignano the itinerary will head to Tigliano, frantoio del Ferrale and will reach Vinci area.

Thursday August 24th at 9.00 a.m. starting from the village of Porciano, the group will walk towards the areas of Madonnino, Casa di Monte and then will continue to Poggio alla Baghera to return to Porciano with a path mainly in the woods.

Thursday August 31st at 9.00 a.m. our guide will lead you through the ridge path, to discover some of the most amazing views in the area telling you the history and the legends of our territory, from the Barco Reale Mediceo, the Medici hunting preserve, to the Sasso di Pietra, the huge stone shrouded in mystery and popular fascination.
